Australia has many types of bridge visa, and each of them has different purposes. They are not an actual visa, instead they are functioning as a bridge to connect you from one event to another event while you stay in Australia.

The Australian bridge visa has five different visa options:

  • Bridging visa A (BVA)-Subclass 010: This visa allows you to stay in Australia from your current visa expiry date to your new visa grant date. You will be able to get this visa automatically when you legally enter Australia and has submitted a valid visa application onshore.

  • Bridging visa C (BVC)-Subclass 030: This visa is just like BVA, it allows you to stay in Australia from your current visa expiry date to your new visa grant date. The only difference is that the BVC is for applicants who lodged valid visa applications in Australia more than one time, this BVC will be granted with every following visa applications after their first application.
  • Bridging visa E (BVE)-Subclass 050: This visa is for unlawful non-citizens in Australia who stayed beyond their visa expiry dates.
