The 186 visa is a permanent employer sponsored work visa, it lets skilled workers, who are nominated and sponsored by their employer, live and work in Australia permanently. This visa has existed for many years and provides fantastic opportunity for applicants to obtain permanent residence instantly.
  • 186 Direct Entry Stream (DE): This stream is for applicants who are not currently holding 482 or 457 visa in Australia. The nominated position needs to be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
  • 186 Labour Agreement Stream: This stream is for skilled workers nominated by employers that have a labour agreement with local Australian government agency. The most common agreements are Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) and Global Talent Employer Sponsored (GTES) agreements.
  • 186 Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream: This stream is known as a permanent resident pathway for 482 TSS or 457 visa holders who have worked for at least 3 years full time and still want to work for the same employer in Australia.
